A pioneering ensemble, exploring new music since 1968
The London Sinfonietta is a home for the musically curious. We discover worlds together, bringing listeners on journeys into recent and brand-new music.
Driven by a passion for shaping music’s future, we have championed visionary composers and transformed their ideas into world-class performances, shifting perceptions and building new audiences. In that time, we’ve established ourselves as one of the world’s finest contemporary music ensembles.
We pioneer fresh approaches to collaboration and music education, creating immersive, participatory experiences that inspire people in London, the UK and beyond. We support emerging composers and new performing talent, and develop people’s creativity through education projects and work with community groups.
Most of all, we invite curious minds—listeners, creators, and musicians—to experience the power of new music. This is music that thrills, challenges, and inspires. Join in!

“If I were the British Government, I’d declare the London Sinfonietta a national treasure…long may they continue to make new music.”
